The Guardians' Throne - The First Magic Swordsman

Chapter 383 - Result

The bandits frowned when they saw Zaos jumping from the wagon. At first, they thought he would surrender, but their shove in his hand only made them get more puzzled. Regardless, Zaos was more or less five hundred meters away from the village, so the other bandits and the villagers wouldn\'t be able to see him "struggling" against those three bandits.

Despite their numerical advantage, the three bandits still surrounded Zaos. He raised his arms as if he was trying to say that he didn\'t want to fight, but he was waiting for the right moment to strike down those idiots. Those three were pretty similar to the other groups of bandits, dirty idiots who had some scars on their faces. Probably due to some bar fights, it was evident that they never put their feet on a real battlefield.

Regardless, the bandits didn\'t attack him, and one of them went to check the wagon. Moody didn\'t like that and complained and tried to kick his face, but Zaos stopped him with Evil Eyes. The bandit paralyzed on the spot began to tremble and pissed himself before falling from the horse. His neck made a scary sound when he fell… Zaos didn\'t want to use that ability often, but he wouldn\'t leave his horse being kicked by a low life.

The other two bandits frowned when they saw that. Zaos didn\'t move an inch, and he still had that force expression of nervousness on his face. They knew that he had done something, but they had no idea what it was… suddenly, they were equipped to magic crossbows, and then Zaos began to run around.

"Ah, dumbasses… you need to attack directly," Zaos thought.

To think that bandits while riding horses would be this coward… Zaos was shocked. In any case, while running, he made sure to keep an eye on both crossbows, and when they pulled the trigger, Zaos blocked one with the shovel and then let the other scratch his right shoulder.

The impact barely made any noise even though the bolts were made of Earth magic. In any case, they turned into dust after that, and the bandits waited for the magic stone to reload the weapon.

"So slow…" Zaos furrowed his eyebrows. "I shouldn\'t have expected much from the weapons of low level lackeys…"

Zaos had an idea that would speed up things a little bit. He approached the corpse of the fallen bandit and then grabbed his crossbow. When they noticed what Zaos was planning, they equipped their spears and then dashed, but they stopped a few meters away from Zaos. He bit both of their heads with Earth Bullets slowly. Those two fell as well and also broke their necks.

"Let\'s see… I should wound their bodies with some bolts just in case, that should fool everyone," Zaos said and then hit his arms and legs as well. "This should be enough…"

Zaos was starting to think that trying to hide his identity wasn\'t that worth the hassle. However, when he began to think like that, he recalled the days where Milliendra played on the shore of the river… those days had been so blissful. In the end, he decided that a few hours of pain and scars were nothing.

Zaos had planned to hide the bodies and then attack the other bandits from behind since a surprise attack was the only thing he could do right now that would grant him the chance to defeat the bandits without raising suspicions. However, another group of bandits left the village to attack him.

"Five more, huh," Zaos thought. "If the other seven pay attention to the battle, the villagers will have the chance to attack them and I won\'t have to solve all the problem by myself… this should be enough to decrease the effects of rumors."

Those five bandits approached Zaos with their crossbows ready, though. There was no other choice… Zaos left them to hit him, but at the same time, he hit the eyes of two bandits using the crossbows he just got. Thanks to his Magic Resistance, he didn\'t suffer much damage, but getting hit without trying to decrease the power of the attack or dodging sure was a pain in the ass.

While the two bandits who lost their eyes were screaming, Zaos clenched his teeth. He had imagined that the other three would wait for the crossbows to reload with magic, but they actually drew their spears.

"Come on, guys," Zaos said. "There is no need to be hasty… Look, your friends in the village are already having plenty of fun."

While they were bandits, they weren\'t that stupid. Even for Zaos, dealing with three spears coming from different directions was difficult when his weapon was a shovel, and his real weapons were at home. So, once again, he decided to use Evil Eyes. However, at the last minute, he changed his mind. When the three enemies approached to stab him, Zaos swung his shovel around and touched their weapons for a single moment. In that fraction of a moment, they were electrocuted by his Thunder Blade. While they were paralyzed, Zaos used the crossbows and hit their faces as well.

"Come to think of it… if they are working for someone big in this country, I can\'t let them be captured," Zaos thought.

The bandits decided to run away, but in the end, they failed. Zaos noticed that the villagers finally decided to do something and attacked the remaining bandits. Thanks to that, no one saw Zaos knocking down the criminals with five Earth Swords.

"I got too laxed… I shouldn\'t have left home without my sword," Zaos said. "Well, using it would make me look even more suspicious."

Before the battle at the village could end, Zaos approached the bandits and made sure to break their necks. It would be weird to see that all the bandits died in the same way. However, it would take days for any guard to come to the village to do some investigation, and until then, the bodies will have been buried.. Hopefully, that fact will die, and the villages will only boast their victory over the bandits to the guards.
