Stuck As A Dungeon Mob

Chapter 437

The battle of the titans outside was rocking the waters and obscuring the vision, but what Kurgher and his ship did was hard to miss. That was because they charged straight forward with rocket power!

A loud bang sounded out, but this noise was drowned out by the tumultuous waves. Nevertheless, it was impossible to hide the impact. The S.S. Wizard Destroyer 1was pushed back and some lizardmen were even hit by the enemies ship.

"My leg!" One of the lizardmen even broke their leg. Ed and A were downstairs with Var Agus so they were even more shocked.

\'Damn, what a large dent!\' A transmitted from shock.

[You\'ve been dealt damage. -1 hp]

Ed whose cage was being held by A was unfortunately dropped to the ground.

\'Ah forget that! Pick me up!\' Luckily, the cage took the brunt of the fall and Ed was already growing mushrooms on the cage. These regular gray mushrooms succeeded in softening the impact.

As for Var Agus, he was hit hard.

"Arrrgh…" His back was killing him as he lay belly down on the ground. He struggled to stand up using his staff, but the end result was pitiful.

"Var! Where are you!?!" Kurgher shouted.

He was currently jumping from his ship\'s deck to Var\'s and Ed\'s. Following the collision, the Mensch flagship was beginning to sink. All the lizardmen on board had no choice but to jump onto theirs.

Kurgher looked left and right, his eyes peered through all, even the current downpour. They swept by many lizardmen but all of these lizardman simply received a gaze of indifference.

"Stop looking for him!" "You are going to die here!" The allied lizardmen were less than pleased by Kurgher\'s dismissive behavior. Were they invisible!?

"Consider your selves lucky, I will use my main spear from now on!" One of the Mensch lizardmen said before removing a spear from their back.

Eon had prepared throwing spears. They were imbued using mushroom powder enchantments. But although they were easy to mass produce, they weren\'t practical. They were only a one time activation.

The Mensch\'s main spear however were the spears he personally enchanted with arguable care. These were magic weapons that would fetch a decent price out in adventurer auctions.

While that meant nothing to the lizardmen inside the dungeon, these were still weapons they considered a family heirloom. To risk damaging them in battle was not an easy decision.

All the 7 lizardmen aboard the sinking flagship brought out their enchanted spears, including Kurgher. The ones on Ed\'s side were not too shabbily prepared either though.

The throwing spears might not have been of very high quality, but the others were carefully crafted by Shel and her other smiths. They even used some more exotic ores so even if they weren\'t magic weapons, they at least had the necessary sharpness and durability.

"AH! DIE!" The battle sounds from the deck above reached Var Agus and A who became solemn.

\'Your divinity! Please help me, I need to be up there!\' Var transmitted desperately through his link with Ed. The latter decided to try something new.

[Var Agus (Injured)]

[ The Shaman of a newly budding lizardmen tribe. Var Agus was struck recently and is suffering from severe back pain from spinal injury]

Ed first ran an assessment to determine the severity of the issue and quickly realized it was not at all good.

\'This is a problem\' He wanted to help Var Agus but the only way Ed could think to do so is through the link. But what was he supposed to send through the link to help?

Ed mulled on this briefly. The ongoing battle on the deck and on the lake was pressuring him severely, so he couldn\'t chew on it for too long.

\'Recalling my status…\' Ed has about 16 points of vitality as a mushroom. Could impart his regenerative prowess onto Var Agus?

[Link is on cooldown]

[You\'ve been dealt damage. -10 hp]

The answer appeared to be yes. Ed\'s health was sucked out of him as his vitality attributes dropped.  Ed\'s mushroom body seemed weak and shrilled up, to describe himself as lethargic was an understatement.

On the other hand, Var Agus felt a soothing wave of power. He was overjoyed by the mushroom god\'s decision to help him. He could almost see himself fighting atop the deck. But logically speaking, Var Agus recovery should take a while.

Quantifying what Ed imparted, it would come out to about 10 points of vitality. Considering that Ed\'s orc body did not have grotesque levels of regeneration like his mushroom body, though having a greater number of vitality attributes than the mushroom, this amount should not do much for Var.

But, the link skill was more magical than one might think at first glance. While skills passed on through the branding room had to acclimate to the target consciousness, power acquired through link would go through as little modifications as possible.

Due to this, Var Agus\' injuries healed very promptly. The pain disappeared as if it were an illusion, and Var was on his feet in no time. He wanted to thank the mushroom god, but he instead ran out for the stairs.

"Kurgher!" Var shouted before wincing. A flash of bright lighting blinded him. Through a corner of his vision, however, he managed to catch sight of a silhouette.

A largely built lizardman warrior thrust his spear straight past the chest of a smaller lizardman.

"Argh…!" This lizardman let out a pained exclamation.

Var recognized this voice. It was the sound of Kroz\'s voice. This was the lizardmen that first encountered Bloody and the mushroom god. In a strange way, this was the lizardmen that allowed for their lizard refugee alliance to reach its current heights.

This was a lizardman that changed the lives of the refugees and Var Agus himself through what was nothing more than a coincidence. Nevertheless, to see such a figure fall before him… Although he wasn\'t attached to the lizardman Var Agus was still pained.

"Ah! Var!" Kurgher said with a murderous expression as he slid his spear out of Kroz\'s body. The latter thudded to the floor without any signs of life. The other Mensch lizardmen were also wrapping things up.

"Aah!" Or they would be if Kouzzo was not also on the ship. The divine blood warriors were each distributed to different boats.

The warrior of Mole exhibited great strength. He was able to speedily block the magical spears of the Mensch warriors and even kill some of them and collect their blood.

Kurgher noticed the struggle to take down this one man, but decided against helping. First, he needed to get rid of the nuisance in front of him! He shot forward, Kurgher was ready to thrust down his spear.

The shaman who did not do much outside of prayers and lectures was not able to react in time. In one swift motion, he, too, was skewered.

"Arg- Urgh…." Var Agus did not know what to make of it. How exactly was he helping right now? This thought flashed past his mind.

Var Agus reached out with one hand towards the thick neck of Kurgher who was awed by his will power.

"Perhaps you would have made a good warrior!" Kurgher declared before his spear was set ablaze. Var Agus\' body ignited.

"AAAAH!!!" He was set ablaze from the inside. The experience was cruel and unpleasant. It was nobody\'s favorite way to die.

"Wh- What?" But Var Agus had persistence, a flaming hand pressed against Kurgher\'s neck. It was starting to leave a black scorch mark on Kurgher\'s otherwise flawless scales.

"How are you still alive?!?!" Kurgher was left slack jawed. He pushed back Var Agus and retrieved his spear.

Var fell on his back, but promptly managed to get back on his feet as the flames in his body started to die out. His charred scales were quickly regaining their rightful color after falling off and being replaced with new ones.

Overall, Var seemed no different from when he first went up the ship stairs. Though, if there was one notable difference, it was his exhausted and traumatized expression.

"I\'m alive because I didn\'t put my faith in a false deity!" Var Agus said in response to Kurgher\'s likely rhetorical question.

"That damned Hydra tried to kill us!" Kurgher said before going in a for a surprise attack. This attack was keenly preempted by Var who stumbled but dodged aside.

It was then that the ship rocked thanks to an incoming wave and all parties on the ship were drenched. Var Agus was nearly washed away, but he managed to lock himself in place using his staff.

"Hah…" Var Agus didn\'t have any words to refute this. It was a fact that the hydra tried to kill them.

Kurgher immediately went in for another spear thrust. This time, he targeted Var\'s shoulder. Hoping to incapacitate him. He didn\'t know if Var had somehow become fire resistant and needed to cling onto some sort of hope.

But although the attack landed, the injury healed almost immediately. No matter how much Kurgher swung, the holes in Var\'s body would regenerate almost instantaneously, leaving nothing more than a tired Kurgher.

One couldn\'t tell if the water that covered Kurgher\'s body was from the lake or if it was sweat from overexertion.

"So you got this perverse skill from that thing!? You got such a skill from the being that ate your master!?! Why?!" Kurgher couldn\'t take it anymore and let out a frustrated roar. Kurgher then forced himself to do another bout of fruitless attacks.

Once Kurgher heard heavy footsteps behind him however, he knew it was over. His frustration left an empty spot that regret quickly filled in.

"Why… Why did it turn out this way...?" Kurgher whispered to himself.

At this moment, Kurgher\'s head was smashed down onto the deck fracturing his skull and killing him on the spot.

"Well done Kouzzo" Var Agus said looking down at the now dead Kurgher. In the end, he helped to stall for Kouzzo to finish the job.
