Dragon's Wrath: The Cursed Returnee

Chapter 56 Worries

ραпdα nᴏνa| сom Since Hannah had the teleportation spell completely under control, Ethan didn\'t have to worry about anything, and in the blink of an eye, they returned to Earth. Only to find themselves in that room with the gravures, surrounded by dozens of people. One of them was John. Although Ethan imagined that he would find him there while standing and with his arms crossed, trying to look imposing, he didn\'t imagine that he would find him and Hannah\'s coworkers sleeping with their backs against the walls.

"It looks like you are popular, big sis," Ethan said. "They spent the night here, waiting for you."

"You really know the right thing to say to make someone feel uncomfortable," Hannah said and then tapped Ethan\'s head with that iron stick.

After a few more seconds, their conversation woke up everyone in the room. The people there couldn\'t help but frown while looking at Hannah since she was completely fine. After a while, they recovered from the surprise, and some of them even hugged Hannah and cried. However, they soon stopped when they saw that John was just like Ethan had imagined. Standing with his arms crossed and trying to look even more imposing.

"Sir, I\'m sorry for the problems that I have caused in my absence," Hannah said, and the lowered her head.

"Did you complete your mission?" John asked.

"Yes, sir," Hannah replied.

"Did you solve the problem that made you stay in Meizibio?" John asked.

"The instigator of the incident has been captured, sir," Hannah answered. "I believe that we still need to look for some answers, but for the time being, Meizibio is at peace again."

"Good work," John nodded. "I want to hear your full report tomorrow. You can go home and rest. I don\'t want you to forget any detail, and you might since you look so tired."

"Thank you, sir," Hannah nodded.

John turned around and then prepared to leave. By the look of things, he wanted to use the elevator alone. Although that was troublesome, Ethan decided to wait patiently. However, before John could leave, Ethan said a few things to him.

"Thank you for allowing me to bring back my sister," Ethan said. "I will repay the favor someday."

"I will be counting on that," John said without turning around or stopping.

The very moment the elevator stopped was the moment that Hannah began to hit Ethan\'s head with the iron stick. Although she wasn\'t using any strength, it was quite troublesome.

"Why do you always sound so cocky?" Hannah asked. "At least bow your head a little when you thank someone."

"It comes naturally," Ethan shrugged. "Anyway, I bet you don\'t have many days off. Do you really want to spend something as rare as this hitting my head? By the way, mom and dad want to hear from us as soon as possible."

Hannah nodded. Still, she had to follow some protocol before leaving the building since she also had to apologize to some people. When Ethan and Hannah left the building, it was already 07:00 AM. Hannah and Ethan found their parents waiting for them at the breakfast table. Somehow, they imagined that they would return before breakfast. Evelyn jumped from the chair and hugged her daughter. As for Michael, he left a huge sigh of relief. Although Ethan didn\'t mind that kind of atmosphere, he hurried to his room… despite everything, he still had to go to school.

"You are really enjoying the simulator, huh," Hannah said.

"It is not that," Ethan sighed. "I have to talk with some people today, and things will be troublesome if I\'m late. I will probably return late today, so don\'t wait for me."

"Ethan… talk to a teacher and ask them to do a full check-up on you," Hannah said. "Somehow, your body has healed, and I don\'t feel any abnormality in your energy, but you have to be careful."

"All right, all right," Ethan sighed again. "I will do that."

While Ethan was taking a shower and changing his clothes, Hannah told their parents what had happened at Meizibio. Those weeks there had been quite intense. Still, her report was mostly about Ethan\'s reckless actions. Ethan was no machine. Even if he were, all the things he did couldn\'t be explained logically. Even heroes worked following logic. Still, somehow, he managed to cover half of the world while running in sixty hours, and he even stopped to help the soldiers on several battlefields. As if that wasn\'t crazy enough, he defeated hundreds of monsters that were much stronger than him and turned the tide of the battle against the army of zombies. Lastly, he defeated the necromancer who caused so many problems. Ethan had the support of Lili, Hannah, and other mages. Still, even though his body was constantly suffering damage, he never stopped.

Everyone knows that humans can accomplish crazy things thanks to adrenaline. Still, it wasn\'t like they could become two times stronger or faster, but it looked like such logic didn\'t apply to Ethan. Even if he had to tear his muscles and bones, Ethan would force his body to muster the strength to defeat and overcome the obstacles ahead of him.

"I can\'t quite imagine all that, given that I just saw Ethan, and he looked normal as usual," Michael said while massaging his eyebrows. "Still, to think that something like that really happened."

"Hannah, you travel to many worlds and probably heard many things about other heroes," Evelyn said. "Still, you didn\'t hear about anyone like Ethan?"

"No, I also have access to a lot of information about the heroes in our country and abroad," Hannah shook her head. "But there isn\'t anything similar, and I intend to research more seriously from now on. However, I think you two need to keep an eye on him as well. If you notice anything weird, you should tell."

"Yesterday morning," Michael said after looking at Evelyn," Ethan looked pretty tired, right? As if he didn\'t sleep well… do you think that might be related?"

"I\'m not sure… if this had happened tomorrow, then I would have agreed that it was related," Hannah said. "It might be that kind of thing… you know, when soldiers return from the battlefield, they have a hard time adjusting to their new realities."

Hannah didn\'t want to hide anything from her parents, but given that the wristwatch was monitoring her, revealing what she knew wasn\'t a good idea. Mostly because it was impossible to tell the number of people who monitored her. Although she trusted the people she worked with, Hannah had to be cautious.
